The Lone Cactus Cottage is the absolute best get away. It was so cozy and relaxing and Judy thought of everything to make you comfortable. You won’t want to do anything but just hang out in the cottage and read a good book by the fireplace. There are also gorgeous Mountain View’s out every window, and luxurious bedding. We will be back.

Love love love this place!!! It’s exactly as Judy described in her listing, which is something we’ve had trouble with other hosts in the past. The cabin is amazing with everything you could want/need. We got up early each morning to watch the sun rise over the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous!! Would love to return!

This was the best Airbnb we have stayed in. I can’t say enough about how perfect this place is. A short drive to Yellowstone National Park and plenty of other sights to see and things to do locally. The bed is very comfortable, and the shower is huge. Everything was clean and comfortable. Ms. Judy was always so responsive and helpful with local suggestions. A perfect getaway!

This was the best Airbnb I have every stayed in! My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 15 wedding anniversary. The place is absolutely perfect, from the special details located around the home to the absolutely breathtaking views outside. We used it as our home base when we visited Yellowstone.

The drive to the park was easy and we saw more elk on our way to the entrance than we actually saw in the park. The location is perfect, Yellowstone and Gardiner can get really busy and it is nice to be away from that all and just enjoy nature (the stars at night should not be missed!). There are great restaurants around the area that we took advantage of, we also cooked in the home our last night and had everything we needed. I hope one day soon we can go back, but this time we want to bring our two girls, they would love it! I only have two regrets of the stay; we never got a chance to go visit the two super cute horses and that we didn’t stay longer!

BETTER THAN THE PICTURES. The cottage was honestly the best choice we made for our vacation. Judy was a great host and made us feel extremely welcome. The house was super clean, the bed was like a cloud, and it was just overall super peaceful. We didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to go back!

If you are looking for a private, clean, scenic place to stay close to Yellowstone, this is it!!! We highly recommend Lone Cactus and are absolutely sad to leave. Judy is an excellent host. From her easy check in to the fluffy towels to the well appointed kitchen, everything was perfect. Cows out back? Check! Wildlife all around? Check! Comfortable home? Check! Views, views, views? Check! Quiet, peaceful and lovely. We hope to come back. Thank you, Judy for sharing your piece of Paradise.

I could go on for too long about why this remains my favorite Airbnb. Judy is a lovely host and put so much care into curating a dreamy Montana experience. Our favorite things were cooking, enjoying indoor and outdoor fires, grilling, stargazing, soaking in the 360 mountain views, and spending quality time with Judy and her horses Jackson and Amen. We went with Yellowstone in mind and found we didn’t need to travel far from Lone Cactus to find hikes, views and experiences that fulfilled us completely. Lone Cactus is cozy, comfortable and you will not want to leave!

Absolutely Amazing!!!! Hands down the best hosts who have thought of everything to make you feel comfortable and truly enjoy the cottage and Montana. This house has all the amenities you could want/expect; toiletries, cookware, alpaca blankets for chilly mornings/evening, best outdoor fireplace, top notch linens, towels for nearby hot springs, special welcome note and so so much more! You can tell this is not just a ‘rental’ but the hosts truly want you to be comfortable and immersed in the Montana beauty. Amen and Jackson are a very special highlight if you love horses like I do. They are so sweet and love meeting new people. You can say hello to them anytime, which is a very unique experience. The location is in the heart of Paradise Valley and very close to hiking/waterfall, plenty of restaurants and 30 mins from North entrance of Yellowstone park. But it is also very private with 360 view that is breathtaking. We anticipated needing to go to Livingston or Bozeman but spent all our time within a 5 mile radius. This was a bucket list trip and it EXCEEDED our expectations. It is perfect for a family and couples. It was a honeymoon and birthday celebration but we are planning to go back with our kids next year. You will not be disappointed.

This space will not disappoint, the most beautiful area and the house is incredibly cozy.

“We just got back from a 6 night stay at lone cactus. When we got to the cottage we were completely blown away. We walked in and felt like home. It is amazing how much thought and love went into making lone cactus a home away from home. The views are absolutely stunning and it looks different every day. The sunsets are so beautiful and we even had a double rainbow one day. There is also lots of wild life right in front your door, we had deer and elk come see us. The distance to Yellowstone is just perfect for being close enough but still away from the crowds. We enjoyed the beautiful porch every evening after having gotten back from the park. We loved every minute and are sure it has not been our last stay here.”

Ok, if you have you are trying to decide between this rental and others in your favorites list, let me help you. Just pick this one! Everything about this property was amazing! The minute we drove up the driveway we knew this one was going to be special and we were right. We were greeted with wine, custom made Cactus cupcakes and tokens for the local hot springs (that, unfortunately we didn’t have time to use). Shortly after we arrived Judy and Terry came over to greet us and they made us feel like we had just arrived at our friend’s home. They were so welcoming and so excited to see us! The home has two outdoor sitting and “staring at the mountain” spaces. Make sure you take the time to do that. The home is an appropriate distance from Yellowstone where we spent two full days. (We should have planned for three). If you leave for the day and plan to be back after dark, leave the porch light on, it is darker than dark when you wind down the driveway to the cabin. But, the stars are amazing! The cabin is super clean, everything is brand new. Terry built this cabin and a lot of the furnishings and Judy decorated it. They could have their own HGTV show with all of their design talents! It is evident that this property was built with love and it is certainly shared with love. Our ONLY regret is that we did not book Lone Cactus for a longer time.

The Lone Cactus cottage was absolutely incredible. We were greeted by a herd of elk and breath taking views. It was our first getaway since our baby joined us last summer and it was perfect! The cottage is very nicely decorated with high quality finishes. We enjoyed wine in front of the fireplace and a nice dinner at Chico. We hope to be back soon!

Perfect stay, 5 stars +++, the home is brand new and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed and more. The views are breathtaking, we will be back for sure. The hosts are incredible and have done an amazing job with this little home in Paradise. Thanks!!

“The views, the cottage and our sweet hosts made this one of the best vacation rentals that we’ve ever stayed at. We were there for 6 nights but could have easily stayed for much longer given the well appointed amenities in the cottage. Paradise Valley, Montana is a beautiful place and this rental allows you to experience the beautiful 360 degree mountain views, wildlife and easy access (30 mins drive) to the north entrance of Yellowstone Nat’l Park or the culinary delights of Livingston (25 min drive). We didn’t want to leave!!”

Our stay at lone cactus cottage was terrific. The house was in the middle of the valley surrounded by mountains and the views were spectacular. The house is brand new it was highly well kept. Accommodations were fantastic. The kitchen is well-stocked and has all the equipment you need if you want to cook in.The owners were nearby and would help out with anything although they didn’t intrude at all on us. They do have a lot of experience and Have lived in that area for many years and can refer you to all sorts of entertainment dining And adventures. It was far enough away from Yellowstone that you were in all the big crowds but close enough that you could get in very quickly to bonuses were a very nice new gas grill, and DIRECTV on the big screen , Although we didn’t watch TV on this vacation, much at all because there was so much else to do. It was a truly find getaway spot close to a lot of action in the park with accommodations groceries and restaurants nearby. We recommend it highly.  Robert B.

Outstanding!! The cottage was picture perfect, inside and out. It was super clean, lots of personal touches with the furniture and decor. Breathtakingly beautiful and relaxing stay

We absolutely adored our stay at Lone Cactus Cottage. It’s such a beautifully built property and the furnishings are spot on. The proximity between Bozeman airport and Yellowstone was perfect. It is the most peaceful and relaxing place, just stick on the fire and pour yourself a glass of wine while enjoying surround mountain views. We’ll definitely be back again sometime. We’re a couple in our 30’s with a 2 year old son who also loved it there. Highly recommend staying here!   Suzanne

Prepare yourself for a wonderful relaxing experience in Paradise Valley… We came to go to Yellowstone, but fell in love with Pray. Judy & Terry truly made our experience unforgettable. They are incredible hosts. The house is spectacular. It’s brand new, impeccably clean and every bit accommodating and enjoyable to just relax in. It truly shows the efforts they have endeavored. We were so enticed to stay local and just relax in this wonderful space. A must stay place, we will be back!   Jaclyn

Luxury living in Paradise

Perfect spot, perfect hosts, and a wine that I have to find again. We dined at an isolated gourmet restaurant with people from all over the globe. Minutes from Yellowstone, or Livingston, the stars at night take your breath away. Hawks and eagles teaching the young to hunt and soar while you binge watch ‘Breaking Bad’. Absolutely loved this place with all the modern comforts and charm. Which is why I’m actually playing this place down so it does’nt get rented when I want it again, soon. We will definetly make this a regular thing. Thanks you guys.    Stephen P.

Have you ever visited a place that stopped you right in your tracks, erased all your thoughts and made you be in the present moment? I found myself in those moments many times during our stay at Lone Cactus. It’s dreamy, it’s heavenly and it’s authentic! My husband and I travel often and have chosen Airbnb type rentals as we are seeking an “experience” where we feel truly connected to that moment, that location… we want it to be authentic and true to that particular location. We found that here!!! We truly loved Lone Cactus! It will forever leave an impression in our hearts and memories! The cottage is supplied with everything you need, it’s spotless, brand new, comfy, cozy yet spacious. We were thrilled to meet the owners, Judy and Terry! They are the loveliest people! They actually built the cottage… and you can tell it’s a true labor of love! They made their dreams come true while helping other create their own memories in Paradise Valley! I would rush my husband out of Yellowstone, just to see the sunset from Lone Cactus. On days where you don’t want the drive to the Park, there are ample hiking trails near the cottage and all along Paradise Valley! By far one of our favorite rentals we’ve ever experienced! So grateful! Thank you, Judy and Terry! We’ll see you next time!      Kristen

Wonderful little house on the prairie

Sometimes we think we want to be in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere, but the realities of those cabins put us off. Lone Cactus however delivers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy The Paradise Valley without giving up any comforts. As a fan of Laura Ingalls’ stories, this Little House on the Prairie really delivers!! I’ll admit to being more of a Four Seasons kind of girl than someone who enjoys camping. So I was a bit nervous about this booking. But the House is everything I could have hoped for. It’s new, clean, well decorated and had every convenience we could have wanted. The lack of a king sized bed was a negative but we found the queen bed in the master bedroom to be very comfortable. The house is inside of a neighborhood called Paradise Found made up of gravel roads and is located at the very end. It backs up to a cattle ranch so we had cows grazing (on the other side of a fence) outside the kitchen window. Very charming. We were only there for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer but our plans didn’t allow for it. We will certainly book this this property again.     Art  P.

“We selfishly want to keep the splendor of this place all to ourselves, but this is too wonderful to keep secret! Far from the busy ski resorts and small town charm, you’ll find The Lone Cactus, tucked away with a magic all its own. This is more than a cottage, it’s a piece of home. The views from every window leave you speechless and the warm fireplace welcomes you as soon as you step in. It’s beautifully decorated, well stocked with cooking essentials and feels as though you’re the first guest who’s stayed there. Judy is incredibly sweet, thorough and responsive. She provided tips and recommendations that were very helpful and the occasional “elk alert” as these beautiful creatures grazed the land around us. It was majestic! We visited in frigid February where the solitude and mountain snow were exactly what we needed to detach from our day to day. We can’t wait to visit again in the summer months. If you’re lucky enough to book this home, just do it! You won’t be disappointed. Miss ya already Judy! See you again soon!”

“The lone cactus cottage is the most stunning place you will ever stay. My fiancé Lauren and I got the pleasure of staying here on the last leg of our 4 state journey (Utah, Idaho,Wyoming and Pray Montana). This was absolutely our favorite Airbnb by a land slide, and possibly the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. The details Judy has put into the cottage are wonderful. To the radiant heat flooring stained concrete, well designed kitchen with stunning counter tops and back splash tile. Every sink in every room had a style to its own. We can go on and on about their cottage amenities. The hospitality was 10 out of 10, Judy provided all kinds of local things to explore. From the best restaurants in town, great hiking trails and free tokens to enjoy the local hot springs. We can’t forget about the 3 bottles of wine they had for us and a growler to borrow if your a craft beer fan. This gem sits right near the Yellowstone river, with numerous river access points. Wonderful location for entering the north entrance to Yellowstone. Before we could even get home, we were planning another trip back to the lone cactus cottage. This place should be on a cover of a magazine. Thanks again Judy & Terry for the most amazing visit ever. We will see you soon. Cheers”
